We are Q and Russ Hippensteel owner operators of Q&R Farm and we are located in Marengo, OH. We raise ADGA Nigerian Dwarf and MDGA Mini Nubian goats. We began our journey in 2018 just after Russ retired from the Air Force after 23 years of service. We started with a few chickens and decided to get two Nigerian Dwarf doelings as pets and we quickly fell in love! We knew this was going to become a new passion. We bought our 10 acre farm in Feb of 2020 and had the first babies born on our farm in May of 2020. We take pride in the care and attention our kiddos get on a daily basis keeping them happy, healthy and socialized. We biosecurity test annually and vaccinate our herd.

All our babies our dam raised! Mommas are moved to a kidding stall when labor is near where they remain with their babies bonding for about 3 days. Once babies have found their legs they begin taking supervised field trips outside. At about a week old they are outside with the herd enjoying fun in the sun. We feel that special bond momma and babies share is priceless and watching their interactions is nothing short of amazing. We spend hours a day hanging with our entire herd ensuring everyone is well socialized. It is very important to us that even though our babies are dam raised they leave for their new pastures sweet, friendly and loving people.

After the first year of getting in the swing of things finding a balance of momma raising babies and us milking we decided the herd was ready for their new job. We started milking our girls to produce goat milk soap. Soap turned into lotion, shave soap, lip balm and more!
